My boat if left to its own devices pull slightly to port, then it pulls a bit more to port until I'm going round in circles.
Salamis my old 20 footer had such a deep V hull it would always track easily at low speed. Trouble was at planing speed it was running on a hull the width of a pensil so always needed a bit of donward turn on the tabs.

That is something else Matt, I am sure your new boat has trim tabs and you will wonder how you ever managed without them, they are right at the top of my must have list if and when I ever upgrade again. They are so easy to use and can change the whole feel of the boat.

Torque of the Devil wrote:She is absolutely beautiful Matt! I bought a Regal 1800 (2nd hand) this year and aspire to owning a Crownline like your's when I've grown out of it and have the money! I've always loved the shape of Crownlines, they are the sort of boat that I can sit and look at for hours. Such a beautiful shape and lines etc... I bet you can't wait to take her out on your maiden voyage! Are you plannning to between now and next Spring? Mine's just been winterised so my weekends are less fun to look forward to now  All the best and happy boating!

I agree, i have the Maxum for that reason, the yanks do have some nice flowing lines on their boats, nothing like their car designers.
Lovely looking boat and the interior looks well comfy and cozy

Are you going to change your avatar piccy now or is it your only memory of 'Little Rascal'.

I had a quick look at eLJay yesterday when I was down for a few chores, looks good from what I could see at ground level. A bit of work to do on the leg but I am sure it will come up like new. :D :D

Yes i'll change the avatar once I get a better pic, love the one of little rascal. Ive got valet and scratch heading down to give the hull a proper clean and wax tomorrow they then do the polish etc in the spring. That way the boat gets a bit of protection from the elements over the winter. I am hopefully taking her out weds afternoon if I have a few hours spare for her first run out before I winterise, although im still not sure if I will winterise or not by the time I decide it will be Spring anyway. :)

yep she has trim tabs and I had a play around with them on the sea trial, a bit of getting used to but they certainly make a difference
