Postby benbaron » Fri Apr 27, 2012 10:59 am

Hi guys,

Anybody know where the best place to buy oil seals from that isnt going to charge me £5 for delivery for something that weights less than a peanut?
Im after - Oil Seal Passage (Quad Ring) - Mercruiser, 18-2944. Replacement for Mercruiser Inboard/Outboard #26-45577

Cheers

Is that what you think the problem may be?

That is a little excessive for something which may be posted.

Worth a try swapping it out, although Ive pumped the oil back in last night and it looks promising but that might just be because I havent run it up yet or had it filled with water to allow the oil to float to the top of the inlet...will see today when Ive run it off the muffs for a few mins.

Postage charge from the places I know about and have the seal though is looking to be about £5 - taking the p*ss in my opinion on that one considering it could be popped in an envelope.

When I just wanted someting small like that from the guys in Ireland I called them and they popped it in an envelope for me. The trouble with online systems is that they are set up already. Always worth a call. :D

Ben without reading it all again, will you know if you've fixed it, running on the muffs?
