So recount time

Boats:

Joka
Full (If I'm allowed aboard anyway)
DPB Should have room for crew
IanH Has Room For 2
Matt13 May have space for crew

Crew requiring passage:

Gazjen (hopefully sorted)
Bettyboop

Ed are you coming as crew or bringing a boat?

As for accommodation I don't mind camping, how does everyone else feel that won't have floating berths?

Also any suggestions for what to do? I like the idea of going round the POW camp and sampling some good food in good company sounds good already doesn't it!

Anyone else going to take the plunge (Pun intended) and get there name down, Its going to be a pretty good opportunity to pop your cross channel cherry in company :)

The POW camp sounds good andfood in company is always welcome :D

I'd prefer b&b if we can sort it but will go with camping if that's the general concensus.

I'll leave it to you and BB to fight over the remaining space on Joka-tu.

If necessary I can take one more out to rendevous with dbp.

A trip round the island to play in the race would be fun as well :D

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

There is very little remaining of the camps that dominated the island during the Nazi occupation, but there are lots of fortifications that are well worth a look - even if you don't like WW2 history the views are amazing.

A few bits and pieces do remain, as posted before I am more than happy to do a tour for those that fancy a couple of hours walk (working up a thirst).

are we avoiding the RYA cross channel muster? if the dates matched then could be an issue or a blessing if we tagged along with them?

Were your numbers not enough to make for a workable flotilla then the weekend after is, as you know, the RIBnet crossing.

Martin makes a excellent host on Alderney and he has looked after the Rib.net gathering over the last two years amazingly .
You will get a warm welcome and the sights are amazing . Highlight for me was the trip around Alderney and out to the lighthouse the awsome power of the tide was amazing and seeing the Puffins was brilliant.

Looking like at least 5 but, yes, as a fallback we could joing the ribnet crossing. I'm sure they'd welcome us if we came laden with beer etc :D

I'll go B&B as well if that's the consensus.

Tour sounds great, always better to have a guide

So who else is going to step up and join the fun?

So it's decided then going over two days, sat cruise out look round, food, drink etc Sun, Look round cruise back (depending on passage plan times)

Does anyone have to be back particularly early on Sunday? or are we going to use Sunday as a full day or are we literally going to cruise back and that's it?

Can I ask the skippers there comfortable cruising speed so we can try and attach some timings, Hopefully everyone will be able to cruise at the slowest boats speed

Wasn't there 8 or 9 boats interested at the start? This all sounds great, would be good to spend Sunday Morning doing something (other than recovering from possible hangovers) then head back in the afternoon. Cruising speed will depend on conditions but for me probably 20-25 kts.

Ok I'll take you Gaz if dbp will take bb. As I said I can take an extra one out to meet dbp if it helps.. I'm happy at 25 knots or less. No rush for Sun. Depends on how crew feel but I'd like to make a full day of it. We could do a late afternoon run back with a final pub meal on the hamble to end the weekend? Or Yarmouth. I might take the monday off anyway. If it helps I can accommodate a couple on the Friday to make an early start on the Sat easier.
