Hopefully, Cap'n Jacks' will be ready enough to participate (we don't mind if its not 100% beautiful yet)

This gives 3 boats:

Mine + Cap'n Jack

Betty Boop arriving later.

IF ANYONE ELSE WANTS TO TRAILER DOWN A BOAT THEN LET ME KNOW, YOU WILL BE MADE WELCOME! (If your not that experienced then don't worry, advice will be on hand, including launching and recovery, and we are all there for the fun, not to judge your ability)

Weather is looking glorious.

There is no firm plan for the day, we have various toys (Kneeboards, Skis, Inflatables etc. ) plus a general run around and cobweb blowing away for the new season. Or just sit on the decking in the sun watching and talking boats.

I am also happy for people to have a go in my boat for those who have not brought theirs and are getting withdrawl symptoms.

Although a blokes day, anyone have any issues if I bring Claire along.. She actually asked since she has the day off work! :)

Anything I can help with either? I have a 4x4 but no boat ready to take yet!

I can bring my ringo if it's needed? Other than that I'm happy to be dragged along in the water like a rag doll. :D

SWMBO just read your post and said, if I'm going it's definately not going to be a blokes day. Ed, Laura has to take her mum to London tomorrow for the mothers pre op, so all being well she'll be coming along too, hopefully Claire won't be on her own on the ladies front. :D

Tyres arrived today, I went for budget, still 200quid though, but 86 load rating 8 ply. First problem the ones that arrived weren't to ATS's standard for chemical process, so had to go back, this put the wheels on back by 5 hours, not done until late tonight. Mudguards, some Ubolt's and some roller bracket bolts still to do, but may well chance it on the bolt front they look solid enough. I made up the brake wire rope tonight, that was another disaster, I thought 3m was plenty but it appears it should have been 3.5m, so had to get some more, another 1 1/2hrs waisted.

Have to take the cat to the vet for a post op check at 09:00, so getting up early to prep trailer with brake rope and test, then load the boat, bring her home and test engine again. You know I have little bits of paper over the house saying don't forget fuel........bet I do!!

I'm getting worried now, all I have to remember is the camera, lunch and me

Bet I forget something.

Sarah probably won't make it as her foot is still a bit iffy after the op, but you never know.

For those bringing your boats tomorrow, check that the copy of the insurance you carry in your boat is for the current year!  Good job I checked mine!

Good job I checked mine too, it ran out last April..... I managed to get a good deal with Towergate though. No paperwork yet, they said it would come by e-mail and they seemed very efficient!!! I hope they are not one of these very nice people until they get your money companies!! I'm sure I'll be able to prove it somehow, like them sending the policy to my iPhone or calling them.

Well, if it can happen it did.....over the last two days. The brakes didn't go on very easily, the tyres were wrong but all sorted now. One of the bolts got stuck and just wouldn't budge, until I got the blow torch out and applied a little Map Gas...... Burned my hands on the bracket....ooops.

Lost the nut to one of the brackets which holds the battery, of course it would be US size and not metric, luckily one of the Doel Fin nuts fitted..phew! Then a roller fell off, the pin got stuck in the hole so had to drill it out, more time lost, jacked up the stern a little to ease the weight and got it back on.

Just as I was filling the Bearing Buddies, the grease gun decided to lose a nut on the spring arm bit, you name it.....it happened!

All being well and no more mishaps we'll be there.

Martin a quick thank you for sorting the day out. Definately was the weather for a day messing around on boats. Good to meet up with other forum members.
The journey home was a little busy with log-jammed M4 & M25 I hope others fared better getting home :P

Yes, echo that, thanks Martin, good to see everyone and finally met Salamis (Robbie)

And the Capn's boat launched and worked

Some crudely edited video which gives the gist of the day :D
