I would just like to add Ian that she drives and rides just as well as she looks. The hunton hull is a pleasure to behold.

Hi Ian
How long have you been at Saxon, I am sure I have seen your boat this season as one of the new arrivals. I am sure you will find everyone very friendly.
How did you get 83 knots on the GPS, I new Huntons were quick, but not that quick!!!

I could only get that if there was a 43 knot tide running in my favour

Not at all, I can struggle up to 40 knots, just, as the Cap'n can confirm :D

Mind you if I shed some ballast (Cap'n and Joridapilot) I could probably have made a few more knots

I can cruise easily at 40 knots.
trouble is usually run with full fuel tanks as not want the shock of filling them from empty. Total capacity of 630 Litres

That speed was taken up Southampton water on a calm day with tide and wind

Even so that's pretty impressive stuff. 40 knots feels fast to me

Mind you that fuel tank makes mine look positively frugal, a mere 200 ltrs

If you can sustain that speed, if you had come with us on the round the Island run you could have done Saxon - Cowes - round the Island - Saxon in a tad over an hour  Mind you doughnutting at that sort of speed would be interesting

Just don't cut the fuel line with a lit cigar wedged next to it ( a reference to the film 'Sahara' in case you havn't seen it).

Yep, sure can and I wouldn't say struggle either! :D

Great to see you post pictures Ian, thank you.

These Huntons are Jokaboats dreamboats, he was all over them at the Sportsboat Show in the Summer. I'm assured by him it was nothing to do with the very pretty blonde on the stand of course.

Have not yet ventured all round the isle of White,
Put me down for the next cruise round.

Sahara is a great film. The hunton 43 in the film is on Jet drives.
What a waste of a boat when it gets blown up too.

The very pretty Blonde is Martin's Wife. ( Martin is the sales director for Hunton Powerboats owner of the 43 at Saxon)

For the film Sahara I believe they ordered three boats two fitted with jet drives as they were filming in a sandy river delta with low depth, and the third was a basic empty shell and this was the one they blew up.
Not only is Martins wife petite and very pretty the first time I met her she was driving a Hunton at about 50Kts (What a girl !!!).
