I found a free slipway today, it's in Boatlaunch: http://www.boatlaunch.co.uk/default.aspx?page=display&nodeid=1667

A great car park, toilets, cafe, shop, free parking. They were the good points.

But.... I've never going again! I grounded 3 times and had to get out and push the boat. You get, apparently, 1.5 hours either side of high water. Maybe if you have a chart plotter and can see the channel of the River Wyre, but without one and only a depth gauge, it was hard going. Great for a jet ski and great facilities, but be careful. We gave it up as a bad job and recovered on the high tide. I figured that if I grounded 3 times whilst the tide was still coming in, I'd be knackered if I grounded whilst the tide was going out! :)

I would have come down and given you some pointers, but it was daughters birthday.
A chart plotter would not have helped as they are not that accurate that far up the river.
Afraid it is local knowledge and trial and error.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Nice little boat, you'll have loads of fun with that I'm sure. Launching and retrieving is a bit of an art. Practice makes perfect and confidence grows with time. Key is to have a plan before you arrive, take your time and take case. Don't get rushed by others waiting. If you're struggling don't mind asking for help. Most people will lend a hand especially if you explain that you're just starting out. Like anything people love giving advice
