28 footers tend to give a V berth, aft cabin AND a mid convertable dinette which is great for a family of four, leaving the crews quarters made up and still retaining an under cover dining area.
25 footers seem to lack the mid convertable dinette.
At least that is my experience but hey, even the 25 footer will provide much better accommodation for you vs. the Karnic.
It will always be a compromise between age, size and price. Finding that balance is the key; a 25 year old Flybridge, a 10 year old Sportscruiser or a newish Cuddy all being available around the same price.
