Remember my new engineer, who supplied and fitted a good condition second hand prop (within 1 hour of request) and then went on to supply and fit a new shift interupt switch, all within the same week?

Well I have just paid the bill?

Guess how much, couldn't believe it!

Scroll down once guessed.

£218 all in - bloody bargain of the century. He will definately get all my work in future :D :D :D

Or at least the 1 infront

Why can't everyone be so genuine - repeat business has to be the key to long term success.

I have since heard negative stories about my former engineer going through staff and only high praise for this one. Just him and his apprentice son, keeping everyone happy, well at least me happy.

He also fitted a brand new 5.7L V8 Mercruiser (not a recon) to my neighbours boat for exactly £5k - a lot of money but reasonable given the work involved.

That's a good price for an new engine, I bet the engine alone wasn't far off the 5K figure. It's great when you find someone you can trust, I never could that's how I ended up doing everything myself.

good for you, sounds like a decent mechanic, well worth building a relationship for the long run if you can trust him and he can provide service like that

I have used the same enginer since 2003 and would not change.
He was working on FT at midnight at Saxon so it was ready for me to use. :D

:D No the legs went back on on a Saturday afternoon.

this was my first major service just after the purchase of FT. The boat had not been used for a good 18 months. (except a couple of sea trials) So i wanted everything checked all filters, belts, & Fluids changed just as a precaution. At least then my engineer and myself knew all was good. Inc travelling ,as he lives in Chichester, he put in 30 hours work over 2 days. Adrian is a top man and if anyone on here is looking to change engineers both Robbie and myself would recomend without hesitation.

Have to say the legs still look fantastic. Now looking at an all over cover and top class polish

It is good to know you have someone you can rely on.
I have used my engineer for 4 years, he comes from near Salisbury but spends most of his day around the Solent coast. I have never had a problem and as he is not yet VAT registered he is very reasonable as our illustrious Government are not helping themselves. Of course there is still VAT on parts and materials but not his labour which is usually a big part of the bill.
