Dates for the diary

Postby Matt13 » Tue Jan 03, 2012 9:40 pm

I wondered if people could post any dates this year of boaty events taking place on the south coast, or even non boaty events but still worth taking a trip by boat for the day out ie. Bournemouth air show. Zippy already mentioned cowes powerboat weekend, what else is going on this year?

Horay!!! something at last in my neck of the woods.

I should get a trailer and a 4x4 to join in these form events. Would have loved to done Alderney in convoy, although everyone missed it last year - weather!

Mercury meeting in April. Anyone got any difficulty with any weekends. I assume we should avoid the bank holiday.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Do we have an calender function on this forum that we can add events too? like a timeline kind of thing? I've seen it on other forums. it's really good for keeping up to date with things

Thats a good idea. Failing that create a category for each event with the date in the heading.

As mentioned before I can't do the weekend of 14-15 April but good other than that.

Mercury meeting 21st April. Arrive Friday or Sat morning, head for the back of the IoW Sat. Overnight at Mercury, cruise West on Sun to escort the Poole team through the Solent sort of plan.

More detailed plan to follow.

Dont forget the Capn's relaunch event, when his beloved Searay will slide majestically from its trailer and then he can thrash it over the horizon! When's the date Capn????

Just thinking of Forum Events, I know the vast majority of you are all South Coast based with boats too big to trailer to the frozen wastes of the North, but would there be any interest in an event over the summer in North Wales at all?
