It's the most fantastic thing I have come across for getting marks off upholstery, like mould or grease/oil. I have tried all sorts of cleaners, but this stuff in amazing and clean. Just a bucket of water and some blue garage tissue on a roll to wipe it off.

I'd love to know how it works, there doesn't seem to be any sort of chemical, so I'm guessing it must act like a very fine abrasive??

Have used similar product: JML Doktor Power fabric stain remover gel, sold in a round tub, (bought from Asda) to succesfully remove early signs of mould on canvas cover. I bought it following your earlier recommendation Cap'n and haven't been disappointed. Takes a lot of washing off though.

Yes I've got one on the boat and you are right it's fantastic for cleaning the cockpit seats. I use a spray called ribshine then use the sponge then a dry cloth and it comes up a treat!

Have read on other forums that these are light abrasive sponges so not good for longterm use.

I've used them for 4 years now and the very old vinyl seems to be intact. However I don't have any proof for future proofing long term use. I'm guessing here but they may take off a micron of material.

Anyone got any thoughts on getting black spot mould of lifejackets please. We opened up the caravan yesterday to find lots of mould over everything inc doors, walls, hard flooring etc, spent most of yesterday cleaning and its mostly gone, but just found the kids lifejackets and they don't look pretty. Have tried some liquid handsoap and got 75% off but any thoughts of the rest please??

re getting black marks off lifejackets try Mold and Mildew remover by Dettol

its a bathroom cleaner but works wonders on lifejackets.

Do you think the Bleach in it will take out the colour in the jacket?

thanks for the replies everyone, I'm just a bit concerned about using abraisive on a lifejacket - be it liquid or magic sponge really. Will try a tiny bit first to see how it goes

Thanks Cap'n Jack for the recommendation. I have tried various vinyl cleaners but nothing really seemed to shift the ingrained grime. I ordered a pack of 10 of the little sponges and it brought the vinyl up better than I could have imagined. Great stuff but I'm glad I got the 10 pack as I used 9 of them to do the seating!

I masked off half of the engine cover sun-pad and cleaned one side for a comparison. I will post the picture shortly...

Bassboat I wouldn't recommend the sponges for your lifejackets, however the product which Overdraught mentions has served him well.
