+ 1 baasboat

If you can get some fuel get out on the water, if only for a short trip.

Nothing beats bobbing about on the water away from the land and all the problems that are there.

Assuming you can get fuel that is  I tries to get out last night (by car) and both ways were virtually gridlocked by idiots panic buying. Pretty sure if I turned up with my jerry cans I would be lynched. I might try mid Monday morning when it might be quieter. Anyone know how the Marinas are faring?

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

+ another on the good luck, whilst I sometimes relish the constant lay off threat to get me out of this (work) place I dont relish the job hunting and ear ache whilst looking for another.

10 cars deep in the local petrol station at 5 to mid night last night - idiots, I'm starting a rumour thats theres going to a shortage of US bowriders, my road is just big enough for a line of buyers 10 deep - panic buying for a 2004 Maxum.

Thanks again chaps. We we have decided to head to the boat tomorrow, then I reallised I need fuel in my car, so the mrs went out in hers as she needed fuel too, all fuel stations in a 10 mile radius are dry, apart from one _ who are limiting it to 20 litres per customer! So I now have 40 litres of diesel in my tank which hopefully will be enough to get me there and back. How stupid are the goverment ministers to cause a panic like this!

Beyond stupid. Simply incapable, even more so the fact they are denying causing the problem in the first place.

Complete wazzocks, the lot of them.
Not a single one would answer a simple question with a straight answer.
No wonder we are in such a mess :!: :!: :!:

If you were the cynical type you might think that a load of cash has just hit the tax office just before the start of the new finatial year.
Whitehall even suggested we keep our tax now in jerry cans, plus we have just proved how far they can squeeze future rises.
But hay you would need to be very cynical to believe that!

I sat in a traffic jam tonight on a main road for around 5-6 mins when I got to the front it was an idiot turning right into a petrol station queuing! Lots of people beeping horns at him but he wouldn't budge everyone ended up going on the pavement to get round. Where are the police when you need them.

Its a shame we can't bulk store petrol I'm sure the resulting investment would give a far better return than the bank for a given time.

They got 34 Million from fuel sales apparently on Wednesday alone so there could be some truth in that particular tax year view

Well made it to wales yesterday at long last, panic buying down here equals no fuel, so good job I filled up before coming down. This will really hurt the easter trade if people can't get fuel to come here or get back. Don't know what impact that will have on the local tourist trade but I'm guessing it will hurt them a lot

Weather!
I'm up in Inverness visiting Mary's cousin and we are covered in snow. Last week it was one of the hottest places in Britain and now we're up here its the coldest and snowing, very pretty though especially on the mountains.

Baasboat, i presume you use the A55 to get to and from Pwllheli? The tesco forecourt near me at Llandudno junction has not ran out at all during this crisis, nor restricted the amount you can buy, not to my knowledge anyway. It is 200 metres off the A55, 1st exit after conway tunnel on your way home.
